Andy Jackson to Release New Studio Album

Esoteric Antenna is pleased to announce the release of Signal to Noise, the new studio album by twice Grammy nominated Pink Floyd engineer Andy Jackson.

Signal to Noise is a fine, modern, progressive work, which draws on Andy Jackson’s exemplary work as an engineer and producer. Besides being an allusion to Andy’s sound engineering background, the title refers to many of the lyrical themes of the album. Andy explains: “The album reflects on the sorting of what is important in life from the humdrum of everyday existence, and is in itself an analogy for the process of the creation of the album”.

Andy Jackson began his career at Utopia Studios in London, training under James Guthrie, a relationship that continues to this day with the duo being co-pilots of Pink Floyd’s sound. (on albums such as “The Final Cut”, “A Momentary Lapse of Reason”, “The Division Bell”, “Pulse”, Roger Waters’ “The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking”, David Gilmour’s “About Face”, “On An Island”, “Live in Gdansk”). He is also engineer and a co-producer of the soon-to-be-released Pink Floyd album, The Endless River.

Along side his work with Pink Floyd and wider work as an engineer, he has recorded three albums, recorded with friends, as a musician in his own right: On the Surface, Obvious and Mythical Burrowing Animals.

The album will be released worldwide on November 3rd, 2014.

District 97 and John Wetton Release One More Red Nightmare Live CD

A new live CD capturing a set of King Crimson songs performed by District 97 and former King Crimson lead singer John Wetton has been released on Primary Purpose via Cherry Red Records.

One More Red Night: Live in Chicago includes three songs from the iconic landmark album Red; which inspired many musicians including Kurt Cobain. This CD also captures several other well-known songs from the three King Crimson studio albums John Wetton played and sang on, plus their earlier hit 21st Century Schizoid Man. This is the first release of this recording and features many tracks which are now rarely heard live.
“I've said it before, and I maintain that D97 is the best young progressive band around right now. Gifted players, great material, and a brilliant, charismatic singer in Leslie Hunt. Their shows are an exciting pleasure to attend, and I am proud to work, and be associated with them.” - John Wetton, Annapolis, October 1,2014.
District 97's drummer and One More Red Night producer, Jonathan Schang, says “The first Crimson song I ever played live with John was Lament. To hear 'that voice' coming from right in front of me, seemingly made only stronger by the passage of time, was an experience I shall never forget. Getting to know John more closely, both as a musician and a human being, is an honor and a privilege. I'm thrilled that our joint interpretations of his iconic work with King Crimson are now available for all to enjoy.”

Track List:
1. One More Red Nightmare
2. The Great Deceiver
3. Lament
4. The Night Watch
5. Fallen Angel
6. Book of Saturday
7. 21st Century Schizoid Man
8. Starless
9. Easy Money

Devin Townsend Launches Ziltoid TV

Devin Townsend has announced the launch of ZTV, a brand new video series starring the inimitable Ziltoid, as well as a brand new interactive site dedicated to him. Following on from the announcement of the double-album, which is due for release on the 27th October 2014 in Europe and 28th October 2014 in the US, the newest glimpse into the Ziltoid story can be viewed here: www.ziltoid.com

Devin had this to say:
Hey guys! Devin here... been a few weeks since the album was delivered, and we've been getting everything ready for the upcoming tours and the release of the records. As I've mentioned, is an experiment for me in trying different mediums to illustrate a concept, and as such...I'm really excited to present to you the new Ziltoid website, and the first of three ZTV episodes leading up to the album release! The crowd-funding campaign has allowed me to actualize Ziltoid and its music in ways I'd always hoped for, and the idea with the three web episodes is to set up the concept of the album. This first one is less over the top than it gets by episode three, but it needs to establish the whole story before it gets more absurd. It is a great pleasure to be able to do this, and was an awesome experience (other than having to explain to management and family why I spent so much money on puppets =)
Thank you for the support and allowing me to continue =)
Devin
