US based progressive rock and metal band Odin's Court announced a crowd sourcing campaign to release 2 albums: Deathanity (R3) and Turtles All the Way Down Vol, II. Deathanity (R3) is a “reboot” of the original ProgRock Records album released in 2008, consisting of a remix (original recording), new recording (e.g., vocals), and a re-master. Turtles All the Way Down, Vol. II continues the concept started in 2015’s album by the same name.
By launching this crowd sourcing campaign, the band wishes to continue the momentum gained from the positive press received on their latest album Turtles All the Way Down.
Band leader Matt Brookins commented on the decision to revisit Deathanity:
“This was an important album to the band – we worked hard independently, and then shopped it to labels. It was picked up by ProgRock Records in 2008, and to date remains our best selling and most popular release. While we were, and still are, proud of what we did, there are some factors that made us want to revisit and improve the quality of the album…mainly, the addition of Dimetrius LaFavors (lead vocals), but also my improvements as an engineer and producer. Additionally, the concept of the album is becoming increasingly important in today’s world, so hopefully we will reach even more ears with this re-release. Stylistically, this album is heavy, progressive, and artsy.”
Turtles All the Way Down, Vol. II continues where the last album left off, exploring the concept of infinite regression and individuals’ methods of finding their place and coping in such a vast universe.
Odin's Court is: Matt Brookins – Guitarist, Keyboardist, Vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist Rick Pierpont – Guitarist and Backing Vocalist Dimetrius LaFavors – Vocalist Gary Raub – Drummer, Percussionist, and Backing Vocalist Jason Pierpont – Bassist
Hypatia, the latest album from Telergy is now available for pre-order!
Telergy's third album tells the tragic story of Hypatia of Alexandria (~ 350 - 415 AD). She was the daughter of Theon, the guardian of the Egyptian library of Alexandria, the greatest repository of knowledge in the ancient world. Theon trained Hypatia in astronomy, mathematics and philosophy. She quickly grew to be a great scholar and teacher in the library herself, widely renowned for both her wisdom and her striking beauty.
The album features an amazing cast of musicians such as Oliver Wakeman, David Ragsdale (Kansas), Anna Phoebe (Trans-Siberian Orchestra), Corey Glover (Living Colour), Parker Lundgren (Queensrӱche), Blake Carpenter (Minstrel's Ghost), and many more!
Cover art designed by internationally renown graphic artist Ed Unitsky.
The album has already been recorded and is ready to go. $4000 is the minimum needed to master, print and distribute the album to select markets.
All proceeds from this album will be donated to Cross Roads Homeless Shelter in Portsmouth, New Hampshire (www.crossroadshouse.org), a facility that provides shelter, food and other supportive services to 500 individuals in need each year. If we exceed the $4000 goal, Telergy can pay for wider distribution and advertising, which can generate higher sales and more profit for Cross Roads House.

Italian progressive rockers, Unreal City ask progressive rock fans to back crowd-funding appeal for a tour planned for 2015. The band released their debut album La Crudeltà di Aprile in 2013, and are currently working on its follow-up which will be released in January 2015 on AMS Records.
They have recently started an Indiegogo campaign, that would bring the band on the road in 2015 to promote their upcoming release. For many interesting perks log on to the campaign page at this location.
The band commented:
"Your help will get us touring in a lot of countries and hopefully we'll schedule a date near to your hometown! But no worries, we'll be on tour even if we don't reach our goal, your help won't be wasted in any case. The only difference will be the amount of dates in the tour and the number of countries reached!"
A new Pallas album will be released in April/May 2014. The new album is to be called wearewhowere and they are currently seeking contributions through the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo to complete its recording. Think of it as a preorder directly from the makers and cutting out the middle men!
As usual in these crowdfunding deals, they have a range of exciting perks ranging from getting your name or even face in the album credits and artwork to joining the band in the recording studio to record a track with them!
Now, crowdfunding is something of a hit or miss. In some cases it works spectacularly (the Subterranea movie is an exemple of this, as is the one by Edison's Children), sometimes it doesn't get the attention it deserves (as was the case with the recent try by Solstice Coil).
So to raise awareness of this campaign Pallas are giving away a free download, not only of the "PreMix- MegaMix" of four new tracks, but also a video plus other goodies such as artwork wallpaper! You can get this download from their Bandcamp site here:Free Download Link.
And while you're there, you can purchase and download The Sentinel Pre-mixes, Demos of intended studio albums, and long out-of-print live albums, now made available at reasonable prices. It's a great way of encouraging the band until the release of this new album.
Solstice Coil is a progressive rock band formed in Israel in late 2001. They've released two self-produced studio albums in 2005 and 2011. You might have heard of them through their Dream Theater Parody, or maybe you saw them play live at the 2006 Prog Resiste Convention or on their 2012 tour in India. Maybe you know of them after having heard a track or two on this radio show. Or maybe you just know them because you know them. Or maybe you don't know them at all!
You can listen to them on Bandcamp, Youtube and their offical website. They are also on Facebook, Twitter, and pretty much every other social media platform out there. For their third album, which is announced to be more epic in nature compared to their previous albums, they've decided to record all of the instruments and vocals in a professional studio to get that "big sound", instead of recording only some tracks in the studio and some in their home studio like they did on their previous albums. Now they need your help. Your funding will allow then to hire a graphic artist to design the album's cover art, get the album professionally mastered and most importantly, print CDs rather than go with a digital release only. In order to achieve all of the above they need to raise $6,000.
Unfortunately I got the news about this a bit late, and there are only 62 hours left to the Indigogo crowd-funding page left to attain that goal, with,as of this writing, $1,727 already pledged. Pretty good deals are to be had ($6 for the CD and the download, $80 puts your name in the booklet, $250 puts your own voice on the album!!). 4, 000 to go, and even though it looks like a lost cause, it's been done before - the crowd-funding for the Subterranea movie being one exemple.
UPDATE: Solstice Coil have unfortunately not met their crowd-funding goal. Still, they promise to record a new album, albeit not with the producer or in the studio that was their first choice. The next album will also not be available on CD, but as a downloadable album, probably through iTunes and through their website.
