New King Crimson Lineup Confirm Shows in New York (Updated)

Last September, Robert Fripp stunned music fans when he announced the return of the mighty Crim as a seven-man band. He said they would rehearse they go forth into the world with shows in about a year's time.

Well today it was announced that those shows would start in New York in September. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, June 6th, at noon for the New York City shows.

As reported here last year, the new King Crimson lineup, the 8th such line-up in the band's history, features Robert Fripp on guitar, Tony Levin on bass and stick, Pat Mastelotto, Gavin Harrison, and Bill Rieflin on drums, Jakko Jakszyk on vocals and guitars, and Mel Collins on woodwind instruments.

Recently, Robert Fripp was interviewed for Uncut online and said this:
"There is a plan to include the UK in the tour dates," he said, "but it depends on a number of circumstances. Right now the primary geographical focus is the United States.
"There are no plans, he says, for the new King Crimson to enter a studio. They will play "reconfigured" versions of existing Crimson material."
